John Grant est un chanteur et compositeur américain. Membre fondateur du groupe The Czars (1994-2004), il poursuit depuis quelques années une carrière solo.
Son premier album, Queen of Denmark, enregistré avec le groupe de folk-rock américain Midlake est sorti le 6 avril 2010.
John Grant jette un regard sans complaisance, parfois ironique et plein d’humour, souvent désabusé, sur son addiction passée à l’alcool et aux ԁгоguеs ; il aborde aussi sans détour son hоmоsехualité.



Glacier, extrait de l’album Pale Green Ghosts, deuxième album solo sorti en 2013, est inspirée par sa propre lutte pour accepter son hоmоsехualité comme « une ode à la douleur de l’être humain. » la chanson qu’il aurait aimé entendre dans sa jeunesse. « vous savez, j’aurais aimé entendre quelqu’un parler du fait qu’être gay ne me rendait pas moins humain que les autres Il faut un long, long temps pour se remettre de tous ses dommages » , expliquait-il ainsi à HIV Plus Mag.
